Whenever we gather around a table to share a meal with family + friends, we try to go around and say 5 Things that we are grateful for from the day or week. These don’t need to be grand statements, it could be a simple joke someone shared … making time for a bath … sleeping in … usually the smaller the moments, the better.

As we prepare for Thanksgiving, we wanted to take a moment to list 5 Things we are thankful for at Otto’s :

  1. Our supportive, involved + generous Germantown Community

  2. The abundance of beautiful small farms + businesses that support our market

  3. Nancy’s baked goods, we would be lost without her

  4. Small, meaningful, daily interactions over a cup of coffee

  5. Our hard-working, kind, loving staff … couldn’t do any of this without them

We wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving and hope you can find a moment to slow down and appreciate the small things.

ADIRONDACK CREAMERY

The founder, Paul Nasrani, believes that Food is a Bridge between cultures. He explains in Edible that he does what he can to make a difference with his ice cream. Just one example ~ half of the profits from the sales of the Syrian Date + Walnut flavor go to the International Rescue Committee’s relief efforts. The carton has the word “Peace” in English, Arabic + Hebrew.

GOLDTHREAD

A plant-based tonic company that was created out of the desire to share the miraculous power of plants to optimize health. They even offer a 7 month Farm to Pharmacy program to teach students the fundamentals of medicinal plant cultivation, formulation + application.
