As more of our Otto’s team becomes fully vaccinated we are feeling a renewed sense of hope and optimism! Here are some of the things we are looking forward to this Spring:

• We finally found a compostable food service glove from Green Paper Products!! We are thrilled to be able to decrease our latex glove waste.

• Another switch we are making is to a compostable vacuum bag from Grounded Packaging for our in-house fish and meat products.

• Germantown’s Climate Smart Community (CSC) is now on Instagram! Follow along to discover all the great work this team is doing for our community @sustainablegermantown.
  
  CSC will be hosting a table in the Hamlet Park during Germantown’s Yard Sale (May 15th) with information on ordering rain barrels. They will also be collaborating with the Germantown Library for an in-person (outdoors) Compost Workshop on May 27th with Bonhomie Farms!

• Germantown’s Park Commission has a website : www.germantownpc.org! Now there is an easy way to donate to our local park projects. If you are interested in being part of a new Lake George South subcommittee, sign up for upcoming information on how to get involved.

Since the pandemic began over a year ago, we have been working closely with our local Germantown Food Pantry to donate food on a weekly basis and have raised over $10,000 from the help of our generous community.

We are excited to announce that we will be setting up a “staples shelf” at the pantry and ensuring that it is stocked on a weekly basis. This will include hard to source items that families are regularly in need of :

Flour
Eggs
Milk
Vegetable Oil
Olive Oil

Additionally, the Germantown Laundromat will be donating laundry detergent + reusable laundry bags on a regular basis.

We appreciate the continued donations at both businesses to help keep these services going, thank you!

GERMANTOWN YARD SALE

The Yard Sale is back! Sign-up to host your own yard sale at aroundgtown.com or come to shop on Saturday, May 15th, 9-4pm.

Lots of activities : Garden Club Plant Sale at Palatine Park, Used Clothing Sale to benefit Germantown Parks at Laundromat, Palatine Manor Fundraiser, Story Hour and Crafts at the Library, and more!

Otto’s will be outside serving Homemade Pretzels + mustard dipping sauce from Poor Devil Pepper Co! Additionally, Rigor Hill Farm will be selling seed starters in front of Otto’s.
