from Around The Family Table Daddy-O’s birthday dinner request, without fail, is ham loaf and macaroni and cheese, a diet-buster for sure. But it’s only once a year.
2 cups ground ham 3 cups ground fresh pork 1 cup soft bread crumbs 1 cup milk 2 eggs
With hands, mix the above. Place in a loaf pan. Sieve brown sugar over the top, sprinkle ground cloves over the sugar. Bake at 375°F for about an hour.
(Note: have the butcher grind the ham. Using a food processor to chop the ham makes it too fluffy, not the right texture for a meat loaf. Or, find an old meat grinder at a garage sale, as I did.)
