Hudson River Sampler | March 2009 Profile: Germantown's Otto's Market by Hilary Hart The building at 215 Main Street in Germantown has been a grocery store since the 1920s, but has been closed for about two years, much to the dismay of local residents. Last September, they were delighted when Otto Leuschel bought and started to renovate it, and even more overjoyed when he opened the dazzling new Otto's Market in December. The market's reception has been great and for this Otto is appreciative, especially with the winter we've had, with the ice storm and all the attending emergencies.

Register-Star | Monday, September 29, 2008 Town to Once again have a Grocery Store by Pat O'Neill The buzz in Germantown this week was not over school or zoning issues, but the future opening of a grocery store. With high gas prices, residents have to travel to Hudson or Red Hook to purchase anything beyond what local convenience stores offer. This will soon change. Before Thanksgiving, people in Germantown can expect to buy their turkey and all the trimmings locally, right on Main Street. That's when Otto's Market is set to open. |
